The 2018 Dona Paula Altitude Series 1350 opens with pleasing aromas of plum and wild berry with hints of mint, vanilla, smoke, graphite and more.
To be honest, I wasn't too sure about this one at first sip as it needs a lot of time to open up but once it does it is quite good. Featuring similar flavors to the nose, the fruit is tart and juicy in the mouth. It also has a smooth mouthfeel and plenty of acidity.
The very best part; however, is the dry, dusty, minerally and long finish. Malbec and Cabernet Franc blends are usually quite reliable and this one certainly delivers.
