This personal label is made by Adam in small lots from unique vineyards around the Cape of South Africa. The Bonniemile Cabernet we are offering here today is made from a small block of Cabernet (just 3,100 vines) in a single vineyard. It is then aged in neutral 300 liter hogsheads for 18 months.

It also sports a 92-94 point score from a Master of Wine Greg Sherwood. (We concur giving it 91-93 points.)

The 2017 Raised by Wolves Bonniemile Cabernet Sauvignon begins with a very pleasing aroma of dark, plummy fruit, some dark chocolate and licorice notes and a bit of earthy spice.

Tasting reveals a balanced, elegant Cabernet. There are oaky spice notes, but this is definitely not the vanilla bomb California style. Featuring a very nice, smooth and soft mouthfeel and similar flavors to the nose this is delicious.

It ends dry, long and a bit grippy and chewy. It's drinking quite nicely now and should continue to do so for at least the next 5 years.
