A young and tannic Costco find from the original home of Malbec in France, the Chateau du Perry Cahors Malbec.
Malbec from Cahors, France. Unfortunately neither the producer nor the the importer give any info on how the wine is made.
The Chateau du Perry Cahors Malbec has an SRP of $25 but we found it at Costco for just $9.99. There don't appear to be many other sellers but you can check for those here. It is imported by Misa Imports.

"An elegant Malbec with floral aromas of violets, ripe black cherries, liquorice and well-integrated oak character. On the palate the wine is deep and rich, perfectly balanced with delicate silky tannins."14.5% Alcohol
The 2018 Chateau du Perry Cahors Malbec from Les Vignobles Saint-Didier Parnac opens with a pleasing aroma of dark fruit, lots of cola and a little bit of spice.
Tasting the wine reveals it to be smooth, a bit tannic and full of more dark fruit. This one starts off with a ton of potential but unfortunately it drops off a bit on the mid-palate and is lacking some depth.
It ends dry, long, and a bit chewy. We found it to be a bit more developed on day 2 so it is likely still a bit young. It's definitely solid for the price, but the 92-point score flaunted on the back label is a bit inflated in my opinion.
