Bridge Lane Rosé and Sauvignon Blanc - High-Quality Wine In A Can

By: Jon Thorsen Published: December 27, 2018 Last Updated: May 23, 2021

Two more quality canned wines to add to our list, the Bridge Lane Rosé and Bridge Lane Sauvignon Blanc from New York State.

Bridge Lane Rosé and Bridge Lane Sauvignon Blanc - High-Quality Wine In A Can

Samples submitted for review. Both wines have an SRP of $8 per 375ml can (half a traditional 750ml bottle) and can be found for as low as $7. They are both available by the bottle, box, keg or can.

First up is the Bridge Lane Sauvignon Blanc from New York State. The wine spends 3 months in stainless steel and does not have any residual sugar. 2,500 cases produced across all formats.

    From the can:

    Oak: 0% (unoaked)
    Sweetness: 0% residual sugar (dry)
    Style: light, fresh, fruity
    Notes: citrus, cut grass, minerals

    12.0% Alcohol

The 2017 Bridge Lane Sauvignon Blanc wine in a can begins with pleasing aromas of citrus, grapefruit, lemongrass and a bit of banana. Despite what you might expect from the can format, this is a lighter-bodied, more sophisticated Sauvignon Blanc that is delightful to drink. It features a great mouthfeel with a lively texture and good acidity and similar flavors to the nose. It ends dry with a lip-smacking finish of long-lasting tart fruit.

Next up is the Bridge Lane Rosé, a blend of 45% Cabernet Franc, 27% Merlot, 16% Malbec, 8% Pinot Noir and 4% Pinot Blanc from New York. The wine is fermented in stainless steel and has no residual sugar. 8,200 cases produced across all formats.

    From the can:

    Oak: 0% (unoaked)
    Sweetness: 0% residual sugar (dry)
    Style: light, fresh, fruity
    Notes: peach, watermelon, sour cherry

    11.9% Alcohol

The 2017 Bridge Lane Rosé wine in a can begins with subdued aromas of berries and watermelon along with some light floral notes. Tasting reveals that this is a serious dry rosé, one that is sure to shatter the perception that wine in a can is low quality. It features juicy and flavorful berry, watermelon and pear along with vibrant acidity and a great mouthfeel. It ends with a crisp, dry finish of lingering sweet fruit. Excellent and extremely tasty.
