The two daughters of Jean-Louis Poudou, the winemaker. Old grapes, 40 to 60 years old, vinified in cement vats, offer the depth of old grapes combined with the fresh fruit of a young wine. It may age for ten years. May be enjoyed with red meats, stews and spicy dishes.

It's May which means that one of our favorite wine days of the year is fast approaching! This year's #LanguedocDay celebration will be held on May 26 and to help you prepare we'll be featuring several great picks from the area over the next few weeks. For our first pick we go to the Minervois appellation in the Western Languedoc.
The 2015 Chateau Tour Boisee Marielle et Frederique begins with a very pleasant and very enticing aroma of blackberry, plum, a touch of smoked meat and black pepper. Those touches of smoked meat from the nose also continue when tasting this medium-bodied wine that features a wonderful combination of succulent dark fruit, spice and pepper. Firm tannins and a dry mouthfeel lead into the long finish. There's no oak influence but the older vines add a level of complexity that takes this wine to the next level. Highly Recommended.
