I founded Crios as a tribute to my children, Jose and Ana. Together, we craft wines to be enjoyed across generations and to represent values we strive to instill in our own families. To us, Crios Malbec stands for the courage and hard work that were needed to tackle seemingly insurmountable challenges and elevate a forgotten varietal to be world-class status.
Crios Malbec is sourced from the highest Andean vineyards, both in elevation (avg. 3,700 ft) and quality, and is a fresh, pure expression, with aromas of violets, cherries, mocha and spice. Juicy tannins and balanced acidity complement perfectly ripe red fruit flavors, while a subtle hint of oak adds complexity.

Black cherry, blackberry, spice and violets all combine quite nicely to make a really attractive aroma on the 2018 Crios Malbec. Taking a sip reveals a classic, tasty Malbec full of dark fruit flavors with really well integrated oak and good density. This is great stuff for $10. It ends dry, quite long and with lots of lingering dark fruit, spice and vanilla.
