Flora & Stone Merlot – Enjoyable Enough

Last Updated on January 15, 2023

Pretty satisfying for just $7, we review the Flora and Stone Merlot from Aldi.

Flora & Stone Merlot - Enjoyable Enough

Merlot from California.

The Flora & Stone Merlot is available exclusively at Aldi and sells for just $6.99.

From the bottle:

An invitation to indulge. This Merlot is a tapestry of dark fruit with a sumptuous toasted oak finish. It is composed of grapes from select California vineyards, whose diverse landscapes create a mosaic in the glass. From this unique tangle of flora, stone and sky comes a velvety red with plush tannins backed by notes of black plum, cherry and clove.

Serve at room temperature and pair with braised pork chops, roasted chicken or pasta with red sauce.

Vinted and Bottled by Pacific Bay Vineyards
13.5% Alcohol

The 2020 Flora and Stone Merlot opens with a pleasing aroma of black cherry, licorice and some oaky spice.

The wine tastes a bit sweet like many of these inexpensive Aldi reds but it is certainly decent enough. Featuring a smooth mouthfeel and good depth of flavor this is easy to drink and pretty satisfying for just $7.

It ends dry, medium-long and a bit grippy.
