The 2019 Ryder Estate Syrah comes from estate vineyards in the Central Coast of California. The wine is aged in a combination of new and neutral French and American oak.

From the winery:

At the winery, the fruit is carefully sorted then destemmed, crushed and fermented at warm temperatures in stainless steel fermenters. Gentle punch downs are performed several times a day. Once dry, the must is pressed into stainless steel tanks for settling, then racked prior to aging on both new and neutral French and American oak.

Our Ryder Estate Syrah is juicy, robust and smooth. Plum and blueberry flavors with a hint of spice are underscored by notes of mocha and vanilla. Pairs perfectly with smoked gouda crostini, braised beef or a late night spent catching up with old friends.

The 2019 Ryder Estate Syrah begins with a classic meaty, leathery Syrah aroma with some dark berry fruit mixed in. It's quite nice and quite true to the variety.

Tasting reveals a simple but quite solid Syrah. If you love this variety this is a great, inexpensive example for daily consumption. It features similar flavors to the nose with some juicy fruit and touches of spice and vanilla wrapped up in a smooth mouthfeel.

It ends dry and long! Highly recommended at our deal price of just $12 a bottle.
