And now on to our review:
The 2020 Lost Toy Cellars Coombsville Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc opens with pleasing aromas of citrus, a little melon, some honeysuckle and other floral notes along with really intriguing mineral notes. There’s no grassiness but it does have some of those signature tropical fruit Sauvignon Blanc notes. And it gets even more expressive as it has time to breathe.
My first thought on tasting the wine is that is unlike any other Sauvignon Blanc I’ve had before as it has many of the characteristics we’re all used to (like the rich fruit) but it is loaded with mineral notes. This is highly complex. All I can say is to take your time with this one – sip it slowly and let it evolve in your glass and you’ll be greatly rewarded.
It ends dry, vibrant and very long on the crisp finish. Excellent!
