In 2017, your generous votes won me the title of Winemaker of the Year, and with that, an opportunity to make you a special wine. I immediately jetted off to Spain to soak up delicious food and wine and get to work - because I knew exactly what I wanted to make.
This is a wine that you can enjoy with every meal (and every occasion) a rich, vibrant, fleshy Garnacha. My sincere thanks to the Angels at nakedwines.com for your support. I hope you enjoy this red from one of my favorite parts of the world.

Montsant is a hilly, sunny region in northern Spain that surrounds the famed Priorat. The varied soil types and abundant old vines have made this a region with a growing reputation. Thankfully for us, there's still plenty of reasonably priced (and delicious) wine to be found here.
The 2017 Matt Parish Montierrasant Garnacha begins with aromas of black cherry and other dark berry fruit, licorice, touches of chocolate and vanilla. It's quite nice and it just gets better from there. Taking a sip reveals lots of rich, tasty dark fruit plus a good dose of oaky spice in this smooth and somewhat tannic medium to full-bodied wine. The touches of chocolate and vanilla from the nose also continue. Nicely balanced, this pleasing wine ends dry and long with lingering fruit and spice notes.
This is smashing stuff and a great one for the Spanish Garnacha lovers. It really improves with some air too so you might want to give it a good decant before serving.
