As we mentioned a few weeks ago in our introduction to Vinho Verde, we'll be highlighting some of our favorites over the next few months. We start that off today with a wine that would be hard not to like.
The 2014 Quinta Da Raza Vinho Verde begins with a very pleasant aroma of lemon, lime, a little fresh baked bread and banana. This fun to drink wine tastes fresh, tart and slightly bubbly with lots more lemon/lime and touches of tropical fruit and grapefruit. It is, quite simply, a perfect wine for American wine drinkers that prefer their whites on the sweeter side and their prices low. The wine finishes crisp and not too sweet thanks to the good acidity and the bubbles. Like so many of the wines from this region, it is also very food flexible so feel free to pair away!
