Zolo Reserve Cabernet Franc – Succulent Stuff

By: Jon Thorsen Last Updated: November 14, 2020

More absolutely delicious Cabernet Franc from Argentina, the Zolo Reserve Cabernet Franc.

Zolo Reserve Cabernet Franc - Succulent Stuff

100% Cabernet Franc from the Las Llamas Estate vineyard in Agrelo, Lujan de Cuyo, Mendoza, Argentina. The wine is aged for 12 months in French and American oak barrels of first, second and third use and has 2.4 g/L of residual sugar.

Sample submitted for review. The Zolo Reserve Cabernet Franc has an SRP of $19 and is available at that price (with limited distribution for now as this is a brand new offering). 1,800 cases produced. Ready to buy? Check your local retailers. Imported by Vino Del Sol.

From the bottle:

Vineyard: Las Llamas Estate, Agrelo, Lujan de Cuyo, Mendoza.
Altitude: 2,550 feet above sea level(850 meters).
Aging: 12 months in French and American oak.
Color: Deep and bright ruby red.
Aromas: Complex characteristics of violet, red raspberries and wild mint.
Flavor: Medium bodied with remarkable elegance and balance, leading to delicate sweet tannins and subtle earthy spice notes.

13.4% Alcohol

The 2017 Zolo Reserve Cabernet Franc begins with a strong, inviting aroma full of dark berry fruit along with very well integrated herbal and spice notes. The wine tastes absolutely delicious and is a fantastic example of Cabernet Franc. Full of juicy dark berry fruit, plenty of acidity, wonderful licorice, herbal and spice notes plus a touch of bell pepper, this is succulent stuff! It ends very long, dry, grippy and juicy with some underlying graphite minerality. This might be our favorite of these Argentinean Cabernet Francs yet. And stay tuned as we have even more to come…

Ready to buy? Check your local retailers.
