From the winemaker:
"Medium purple in color, the 2010 Malbec from McManis Family Vineyards contains pleasing scents of juicy red raspberry, toast and mocha. Raspberry is also the predominate flavor of this medium bodied offering. Moderate tannins become evident on the finish.
13.5% Alcohol"
We are continuing on with our Malbec Mania series and today's wine comes from California. While Malbec is most commonly associated with Argentina these days (and to a lesser extent the Cahors region of France) there are other areas producing some pretty nice wines from these grapes and California is one of them.
The 2010 McManis Family Vineyards Malbec begins with pleasant aromas of raspberry, blackberry and caramel. Tasting the wine shows really nice juicy fruit. Oak is also very evident but not so much that it takes away from the experience. The wine ends with a nice bit of spicy tannins and then the fruit lingers and turns into toasty mocha notes. Very good!
