The 2009 Truchard Vineyards Carneros Napa Valley Pinot Noir begins with pleasant aromas of cherry cola, spice, white pepper and strawberry plant (dirt and all). The wine tastes nice and dry with sour cherry fruit flavors, spice and a good dose of earthiness. There’s nothing over the top about this smooth, soft, medium-bodied wine and it really highlights the beauty that a nicely balanced wine can deliver. The earthy spice kicks it up a notch on the long finish and leaves you with lingering notes of black tea. Excellent!
