96% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Merlot from Napa Valley and Rutherford, California. Aged in 75% French oak and 25% American oak for 16 to 18 months.
From the winery:
"This Napa Cabernet Sauvignon reflects a traditional old-school approach to winemaking, where terroir is allowed to express itself and the art of the blend results in wines of balance and complexity. Joseph Carr and celebrated winemaker Aaron Pott work with small growers in the Napa Valley and Rutherford AVAs to assemble this cuvée, which offers richness, depth, and approachability.
14.5% Alcohol"
The 2012 Joseph Carr Napa County Cabernet Sauvignon begins with a very pleasant, almost dusty aroma of blackberry, black cherry, vanilla, toffee, caramel and more. Taking a sip reveals loads of rich, juicy, succulent fruit mixed with excellent oaky notes, mostly in the form of chocolate and vanilla. Wonderfully balanced and structured, this medium to full-bodied wine features great depth. A little spice leads into the long, dry and a bit dusty finish. Be sure to give it a good decant to experience it at its best.
