We're now six wines into our Warming Winter Reds series and the wines just keep getting better. So far we've traveled to Spain, Italy, Australia, Oregon and France and today we make a return trip to the land down under to check out a silky smooth Cabernet from the Margaret River region in southwestern Australia.
The 2012 Ringbolt Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon begins with an enticing aroma of minty plum, blackberry and blackcurrant with some nice floral notes. The wine tastes really delicious with lots of rich blackberry peppered with wonderful spice notes and features a silky smooth mouthfeel. Medium to full-bodied, this wine is fabulous all on its own or pair it with a nice juicy steak. It ends dry and very long with lingering minty notes and hints of dark chocolate under the fruit. Excellent stuff!
