Avalon Blend - Get Your Jam On

By: Jon Thorsen Published: October 31, 2018 Last Updated: May 30, 2021

Smooth, jammy, oaky and a little bit sweet, the Avalon BLEND.

Avalon Blend - Get Your Jam On

54% Zinfandel, 21% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Tannat and 5% Petite Sirah from California. The wine spends 10-12 months in French oak (35% new).

Sample submitted for review. The Avalon Blend has an SRP of $13 and is available for as low as $8.

    From the bottle:

Avalon BLEND is a dark, rich and juicy red wine masterfully crafted from noble Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel and Petite Sirah grapes sourced from California's pristine coastal growing regions.

    Beautifully balanced black fruit flavors.
    Luscious, velvety dark chocolate undertones.
    Endless aromas of toasted oak.
Notes of jammy fruit balanced with a touch of spice.
Dark as night and devilishly delicious.

    13.5% Alcohol

The 2015 Avalon BLEND begins with a pleasing aroma full of blackberry, spice and black pepper. The wine tastes smooth, jammy and a little bit sweet and is very easy to drink. Add in a whole lot of oak influence and this wine hits a lot of consumers strike zone. The crowd-pleaser ends with more jammy and spicy blackberry fruit plus lingering vanilla and chocolate notes. Fans of the popular mass-market red blends should definitely add this one to their short list.
