Today we continue in our exploration of the wines of Vinho Verde. We started off this series with a look at the basics of Vinho Verde here. We then took a look at the grape varieties that make up this region, with a special focus on Alvarinho and Loureiro, the latter of which makes up 80% of today's wine.
The 2015 Casa Do Homem Branco begins with a very pleasant aroma full of floral notes (orange blossom and others), citrus and a little tropical fruit. The slightly fizzy wine tastes fruity and delicious. In the mouth it features more citrus along with some guava and lively acidity. It ends with crisp citrus notes with perhaps a hint of minerality. Not only is this one easy to drink, but it's quite fun to do so as well!
