The 2016 Cigar Bourbon Barrel-Aged Cabernet Sauvignon from Cosentino Winery begins with a pleasing, bourbon filled aroma of blackberry and black cherry along with lots of wonderful baking spice, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, caramel and more. Taking a sip reveals a smooth and tasty wine. I love that it's not sweet but still has plenty of rich, dark fruit. The bourbon barrels add plenty of intrigue - caramel, vanilla, coffee all those notes from the nose, but none of them are overpowering and they all blend together seamlessly with the fruit. This is very well done. It ends dry and long with lots of lingering flavors.
