Renzo Masi is a family-run company that has been making wine for three generations. The philosophy which has distinguished their work from the beginning until now has been the same: producing wines with an excellent quality/price relationship. To obtain this year after year, they have searched for and selected the producers who can guarantee a constant, high-standard quality level and they have created a long-term relationship of cooperation with them, including their consultation on how to manage the vineyard, with the aim of reaching the highest quality.
12.5% Alcohol
The 2017 La Bastarda Pinot Grigio from Renzo Masi begins with a bit subdued but pleasing aroma of apple, lemon and a little honeysuckle with just a touch of spice. Tasting the wine reveals nice depth of flavor, good acidity, a good texture and even some streaks of minerality in this slightly sweet wine. There's nothing particularly complex or original about it (beyond the label) but it's a nice rendition of Pinot Grigio at this low price that is sure to be a crowd-pleaser. It ends with tart and tangy fruit and more hints of minerality on the medium-long finish. This will do nicely!
