Imagery Pinot Noir - Soft and Lovely

By: Jon Thorsen Published: June 8, 2019 Last Updated: May 30, 2021

Pinot Noir with a delicious twist of Petit Verdot, the Imagery Pinot Noir from California.

Imagery Pinot Noir - Soft and Lovely

85% Pinot Noir and 15% Petit Verdot from California. The wine is aged in French oak (20% new) for 4 months and has 3.45 g/L of residual sugar.

Sample submitted for review. The Imagery Pinot Noir has an SRP of $20 and is available for as low as $14. Ready to buy? Check your local retailers.

    From the bottle:

At Imagery, wine is art. For nearly twenty years, we've been making unconventional wines with original artwork at our Sonoma Estate. Now we're bringing Imagery's authentic spirit to a new generation. Every bottle represents a delicious twist on tradition. The polished tannins and rich berry flavors in our Pinot Noir are blended with Petit Verdot adding body and complexity to the wine. Savoring a glass of Imagery is an invitation to broaden your palate.

    13.5% Alcohol

The 2017 Imagery Pinot Noir begins with a very inviting aroma of black cherry and strawberry along with some leather, vanilla and a hint of rhubarb. The bouquet evolves quite nicely in the glass as it has time to breathe. Tasting reveals a smooth, soft and lovely medium-bodied Pinot Noir with a wonderful round mouthfeel. It features similar flavors to the nose plus ripe, juicy fruit, red licorice, cola and more. Again, it really continues to develop as it gets more air so this is a wine you will want to sip slowly and savor. It ends dry and long with a lingering sweet tart candy finish. The Petit Verdot is a very interesting addition here and I have to say it works quite well.

Ready to buy? Check your local retailers.
