The wine comes from the highly acclaimed Keller Estate, who played a key role in the creation of the Petaluma Gap AVA. Known for their stellar Pinot Noir, most of their bottles retail for $60 and up.

Keller Estate is a family winery in Sonoma’s Petaluma Gap where Mexican heritage meets cool-climate winemaking. Just a scenic drive from San Francisco, we craft elegant wines with deep respect for our land and traditions.
Our Approach to Winemaking: It is often said that great wine starts in the vineyard. We favor the term wine growing and carry this philosophy through to our cellar. Farming Practices: Our intention is that Keller Estate family winery remains in our family for generations, and this keeps us honest. As we farm our Petaluma Gap vineyards, this has taken us down a path of education and stewardship. In addition to having over 10 years of Certified California Sustainable Winegrowing (CCSW) certification, in 2025 we will be certified organic in both our vineyards and olive groves. We believe in certification as a transparent way of communicating our intentions. Beyond that, we also believe that a multi-agricultural perspective keeps the soil healthy. Our flock of 100 Dorper sheep provide natural mowing, fertilizing, and fire prevention throughout the year. Owl and bat boxes are part of our strategic gopher control, while our bees are essential members of our pollinator team.
The cool climate Keller “CASA” Petaluma Gap Pinot Noir, is meant to be the winery’s everyday “house” wine. It is still made, however, with estate fruit and all the same practices as their more expensive bottles, including 10 months in French oak with 20% new barrels. We give it a 9 Taste Rating (91-93 points).

Summer 2026 Shipping Info
Shipping is a flat $9.99 per order, no matter how many packs you buy. This applies to both Summer Shipments AND Summer Holds. Summer Shipments also have an additional charge built into the product price for the heat protection package. Here’s how it works:
Summer Ship (+$8 for the Heat Protection Package) – Packages ship in styrofoam and use refrigerated shipping. This includes refrigerated trucks to local hubs for the South, Midwest and East Coast and internal refrigeration (ice packs) in boxes for the West Coast. Final delivery will be on regular UPS trucks without refrigeration (just like last year), thus the reason for the styrofoam.
Note that unlike last year, packages will not go 2-day air as the refrigerated trucks are a better option, however this will add additional transit time. Trucks will only pick up from our shipper once per week so with our normal order processing time of up to 10 days before orders are sent out, packages will likely take anywhere from 2-3 weeks to arrive in-home.
These orders have an additional cost of $8 built into the product price for this Heat Protection Package. It is NOT possible (nor would it be advisable!) to purchase a deal with summer shipping without also including the Heat Protection Package.
Summer Hold – Buy your wine now and have your shipment held in a temperature controlled warehouse for delivery in October! While we take every precaution we can with our Summer Shipping protocol, we also know that many of you travel or live in very hot areas where you don’t want to risk it (or you simply detest styrofoam).

2021 Keller CASA Petaluma Gap Pinot Noir
Petaluma Gap, Sonoma CountyTasting Notes: CASA Pinot Noir from the Keller Estate is true to its name – it is our ‘house wine’ – made from our estate in the Petaluma Gap of Sonoma County. CASA Pinot Noir is our entry-level selection of our terroir-based production at Keller Estate. We pride ourselves on our clonal selections planted on sedimentary soils and the unique air flow which defines the Petaluma Gap, producing exceptional aromatic wines.
The 2021 Keller Estate CASA Pinot Noir opens with aromas of potpourri and spice. Deep flavors of baked blackberry pie and notes of hibiscus tea fill the palate. Hints of black pepper and boysenberry combine for a clean, lively finish.
The Vineyard: Keller Estate was once part of the ancient seabed below San Pablo Bay. These mineral-rich, clay soils define our site and result in a rich minerality, a signature of our wines. The site’s proximity on the Western edge of Sonoma Mountain, above the Petaluma River, is the southern stretch of the Petaluma Gap. Winds from the Pacific Ocean are pulled through the ‘Gap’ by the warming Central Valley interior which impart distinctive fruit and floral aromatics which define this AVA.
We implement regenerative farming which focuses on top-soil renewal and increased cover crop and beneficial insect biodiversity, enhancing our own regional ecosystem as well as contributing to the health and vitality of the earth.
Vintage: By November 2020, it became apparent that the persistent, multi-year drought was adversely impacting the ponds’ levels. To reduce vine stress, we irrigated the vineyards early in the growing season to encourage them to pull nutrients from the soil and establish a healthy canopy. Keller Estate’s three rain-collection ponds, which we irrigate our vineyards, olive groves, and landscaping, were almost dry by May. Fortunately, we had fewer than anticipated heat spells in the summer. With well-established vineyard sites and intensive canopy management, the vines produced beautiful clusters, albeit with small berries. As a result, the 2021 wines were concentrated, succulent, and rich.
Winemaking: Harvested in the cool night, the small whole clusters arrive at the winery, allowing us to gently de-stem the fruit before a 4-day cold soak. After this time, the temperature rises slowly, and the native fermentation happens over the next 13-15 days. Our gravity flow winery allows us to gently fill our barrels without adding oxygen. After this, they go into our cave for malolactic fermentation. For Casa Pinot Noir, we select 20% new French oak.

The 2021 Keller CASA Petaluma Gap Pinot Noir opens with pleasing aromas of black cherry and spice plus a little blackberry, black pepper and forest floor. It’s quite an attractive start.
Taking a sip reveals an easy to drink example of Pinot Noir with some surprising and almost sneaky depth to it. It’s mostly about the fruit when first popped and poured but it really develops with some time in the glass and also features some nice light spice components. This is quite enjoyable!
It ends dry and quite long and lasting and was even a bit better on day 2 so don’t be afraid to give this one plenty of time to breathe. We love it.

I’m the first to admit I don’t have a "sophisticated" palate—I couldn't tell you if I’m tasting hints of forest floor or old leather—but I definitely know what I like. For me, a great wine is all about being smooth and easy to drink, and this 2021 Keller CASA Pinot Noir hits the spot.
It’s a classic California Pinot that isn't trying too hard to be fancy. There’s no harsh "bite" or bitterness to get through; it’s just velvety and goes down easy. It tastes like bright red fruit—think cherries and raspberries—with a really clean finish.
If you’re like me and just want a high-quality, "easy drinker" that’s polished but totally down-to-earth, this is a winner.
After popping 1st btl, I immediately checked to see if deal was still good. I should've known better knowing it was Keller. I have so much wine, especially Pinot Noir, so I held back.
My kind of Pinot, smooth , low oak, a bit of complexity and always enjoy wines from an area (Petaluma Gap) I haven’t tried before.
