The wine is 97% Syrah with a really intriguing addition of the white grape Roussanne (2%) to go along with the traditional Viognier (1%). The grapes come primarily from the May’s Discovery, Pepper Bridge, Boushey, and Dineen vineyards in the Columbia Valley and the wine is 60% whole cluster fermented using native yeast. It is then aged 18 months in 40% new French oak 500L puncheons.
The result is fabulous, even at the normal price of $38 a bottle but of course, we have it for much less…

2023 Two Vintners Columbia Valley Syrah
the story: Columbia Valley Syrah is really the wine that ‘made’ Two Vintners. Morgan’s conviction that WA Syrah was, and is, absolutely among the world’s best, did not align with the apathetic view among wine consumers in 2007. Nonetheless, following status quo was never an ideal held by Two Vintners, so we charged ahead with delicious, world-class Syrah and priced it to move.
Morgan wanted this wine to be on every glass pour list around, so we made it impeccably, and from the very best vineyards in the state. We made sure it stayed affordable so that we could get it in the most hands and mouths as possible.
The result is 18 vintages straight of 90+ scores and 2 Top 100 placements on lists that encompass the best wines in the world. Really, the humble and delicious Two Vintners Columbia Valley Syrah is everything. It’s the reason that Two Vintners started, and it’s the reason that Two Vintners is still here today.

And now on to our review:
The 2023 Two Vintners Columbia Valley Syrah opens with a really harmonious, enticing aroma of ripe dark fruit, violets and other floral notes, plus a little smoked meat and leather, some savory herbal notes and more. It’s a fantastic start.
Taking a sip reveals that this is a very nice example of Syrah! Really excellent, it features all the same notes as the nose and is quite balanced and harmonious in the mouth. It’s juicy, savory and just delicious. I also love the intriguing addition of Roussanne with the traditional Viognier.
It ends dry, savory, juicy and very, very long and also very, very satisfying. It was just as good on day 2.
This is almost unbelievable for the price. The various reviewers out there put the drinking window out to 2033, and we agree, so don’t be afraid to stock up.
