If you’re looking for an uncomplicated crowd-pleaser, this works for the low price. We review the Intermingle Pinot Grigio from Aldi.
Pinot Grigio from California.
The wine is available exclusively at Aldi and sells for $6.99.
From the bottle:
In order to make sure this Pinot Grigio always steals the show, grapes were sourced from the best vineyards California has to offer.
The result is mouthwatering flavors of crisp green apple, zesty key lime and delicate aromas. Hints of minerality balance out the acidity, which leads to a satisfying, vibrant finish. This light, fruit forward wine is the perfect pairing for fresh green salads and creamy cheeses.
Best when enjoyed between 45-50 degrees.
Vinted and Bottled by Intermingle Cellars
13.5% Alcohol
Aldi’s sweet spot in the wine section seems to be sub-$10 white wines, so today we have one from their Intermingle label. We previously reviewed both the Intermingle Cabernet Sauvignon and the Intermingle Red Blend, but this is the first white.
The 2022 Intermingle Pinot Grigio opens with attractive aromas of lemon, lime and some other zesty citrus aromas plus a touch of honey.
Taking a sip reveals a pretty standard California Pinot Grigio. That’s not bad, it’s just not that exciting. The easy to drink wine tastes like it has a touch of residual sugar, which will probably help its popularity.
It ends mostly dry on the decent length finish. If you’re looking for an uncomplicated crowd-pleaser, this works for the price.
