A new addition to the Intermingle line at Aldi, we review the Intermingle Cabernet Sauvignon.
Cabernet Sauvignon from California.
The wine is aged on a blend of French and American oak staves. Oak staves are the planks of wood that make up sides of the barrel. This is basically a cheaper way to get some oak influence in your wine versus aging it in expensive, intact barrels.
The Intermingle Cabernet Sauvignon is available exclusively at Aldi and sells for just $6.99.
This is a new addition to the Intermingle line which also includes the Intermingle Red Blend.
From the bottle:
A captivating twist of flavor where character, complexity, and elegance come together to Intermingle. An indulgent blend of rich dark berries and vanilla notes complement a refined, luxurious finish.
Our indulgent Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from premier California vineyards. Alluring, bold flavors blend with silky tannins to entice the palate.
Aromas of juicy cherry and blackberry combine to complement hints of toasted oak and sweet vanilla. This wine is full-bodied and balanced with a long, lingering finish. Rich and complex flavors make it the perfect complement to steak, grilled lamb or a hearty pasta.
Best when enjoyed between 55-65 degrees.

The 2020 Intermingle Cabernet Sauvignon opens with aromas of black cherry, a bit of a green note, licorice, cola and a touch of spice.
Tasting reveals a basic, drinkable Cab, that's slightly sweet. With a smooth mouthfeel, it's easy to drink even if it's not terribly exciting. At $7, however, it's good enough for the price.
It ends bit grippy and with decent length on the mostly dry finish. It was similar on day 2.
