Leitz Eins Zwei Dry Riesling “3” – Deliciously Easy

By: Jon Thorsen Last Updated: September 26, 2018

A darn good German, the Leitz Eins Zwei Dry Riesling Trocken “3”.

Leitz Eins Zwei Dry Riesling "3" - Deliciously Easy

100% Riesling from Johannisberg, Rheingau, Germany. The wine is fermented in stainless steel and has residual sugar of 5.5 g/L.

The Leitz Eins Zwei Dry Riesling “3” has an SRP of $18 and can be found for as low as $14. Ready to buy? Check your local retailers. Imported by Schatzi Wines. Sample submitted for review.

From the winery:

Eins Zwei Dry is the Riesling that provides an entry into the Leitz world of wine. This wine is a cross-section of various Rheingau loess and clay soils with an appealing dry character. The bouquet is characterized by a clear apple fragrance, a hint of kumquat and apricot together with a touch of lime blossom.

12% Alcohol

The 2015 Leitz Eins Zwei Dry Riesling Trocken “3” begins with a pleasant aroma full of lime and apple plus hints of peach, melon and a touch of cinnamon spice. Taking a sip reveals a smooth and tasty wine that is both easy and fun to drink. Medium-bodied and with an excellent, lively acidity, you’ll find similar flavors to the nose with some extra citrus notes in the mouth. Those hints of spice from the nose also carry over when tasting. Spiced apple and lime linger on the long, dry finish that is highlighted by some salty minerality. Good stuff!
