RIFF Pinot Grigio – In Tune

Last Updated on August 15, 2022

A harmonious wine from Alois Lageder, the RIFF Pinot Grigio.

RIFF Pinot Grigio - In Tune

Pinot Grigio from the Tre Venezie (Alto Aldige, Trentino and Veneto) region in northern Italy. The wine has 2.5 g/L of residual sugar and is vegan friendly.

Sample submitted for review. It has an SRP of $11 and is available for as low as $8, including at some Costco locations. It is imported by Alois Lageder.

From the bottle:

The freshest Pinot Grigio from ancient soils.

Where the rugged Northern Italian Alps lie today, there was an ocean with colourful coral reefs 220 million years ago. Even today, the rock layers on which the vines grow are full of hidden fossils of the past life in the ocean. They tell their story and give the RIFF wines their lively, fresh character.

Suitable for vegan and vegetarian.
12.5% Alcohol

The 2019 RIFF Pinot Grigio begins with a pleasing aroma of ripe pear, peach and a little tropical fruit plus a hint of wet stone and a nutty note.

Taking a sip reveals this to be quite a flavorful Pinot Grigio with the tropical fruit and apple leading the way in the mouth. It’s crisp and quite tasty with the hint of nutty note carrying over from the nose.

It ends with a crisp, dry, medium-long finish. This is quite a pleasant sipper, especially at this low price.
