From the bottle:
At Rosenblum Cellars, we have more than 30 years of experience crafting award-winning Zinfandels from unique sites. This complex Zinfandel is named for Carla Meadows, who led the fight to keep historic Contra Costa County vineyards from urbanization. The gnarly vines' small, intensely flavored clusters produce an inky-dark, exotic Zinfandel. Smooth tannins support the
black cherry, wild blackberry and spiced plum, while intriguing flavors of Asian spices linger in the fruit-imbued finish.14.5% Alcohol
The 2011 Rosenblum Cellars Carla's Reserve Zinfandel begins with a nose-pleasing aroma of ripe dark fruit, spice, cedar, lots of vanilla and a bit of caramel. The wine tastes very smooth and velvety and is full of more rich dark fruit and spice in the mouth. Licorice, cola, cedar and a bit of bramble also make appearances in this complex wine. The vanilla and caramel take a back seat when tasting but they reappear on the long, dry finish along with a bit of tobacco. A good match for anything in BBQ sauce, this is Zintastic stuff!
