Another Napa Valley value, this time from Aldi. The 30 Miles Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.
Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley, California.
We've been loving the value priced Cabs coming out of Napa Valley as of late. Wines like the $15 Trader Joe's Rutherford Platinum Reserve and the $20 Kirkland Signature Oakville. And thanks to the glut of Cabernet grapes in Napa from the bountiful 2018 and 2019 harvests, we're still seeing these Napa Valley values.
In any case, Aldi gets in on the act today with their own exclusive $15 Napa Cabernet, the 30 Miles Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. We've recommended this one for a few years now - let's check out the latest, 2019 vintage.
To wine growers in the west, "30 Miles" speaks to the rolling hills and rich flavors of Napa Valley. The small 30 by 5 mile region is what has placed the US on the map as a respectable and influential worldwide wine grower.
Opening with aromas of dark berries and cocoa, this full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits notes of ripe blackberry, cassis, and vanilla, finishing long with velvety tannins. Pairs well with red meats, duck, and robust red sauces. Best served at room temperature.

The 2019 30 Miles Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon begins with a classic Cali Cab aroma done well. There's blackberry, plum and lots of oak influence like licorice, spice, vanilla and cocoa.
Tasting reveals similar flavors to the nose, with more dark fruit, cola and still plenty of oak influence. It may not the most sophisticated of Napa Cabs but this is a great value nonetheless.
It ends dry, grippy and a bit oaky with plenty of vanilla and long lasting dark fruit. Solid!
