Named for the ancient Celtic god of the sun, Bellenos (pronounced buh-len-os) wines are the ideal introduction to Burgundy. Bright, charming, affordably priced and ready to drink, they are the delicious “yes” that answers the eternal question: “Can’t we drink Burgundy every day?”
This very expressive rosé is pure Gamay Noir from Beaujolais. Beautifully clean, ripe fruit and minimal winemaking preserve the naturally fruity personality of the Gamay grape: vibrant red raspberry and cherry flavors, and the bright mineral edge that is typical of this area of Burgundy.
12.5% Alcohol
The 2017 Bellenos Rosé of Gamay Noir opens with an attractive fruity and floral aroma full of strawberry, a little watermelon, a little cherry, a little peach and more.
Taking a sip reveals a light and very enjoyable rosé that is still tasting quite fresh. It tastes similar to its aroma with some sweet fruit flavors in the mouth plus a lot of tart acidity.
It ends dry and moderately long. Quite easy and enjoyable to drink, this is a quaffer! It's also a great chance to try a wine you unfortunately don't see very often as Gamay makes a great rosé.
