We love it when a wine truly embodies our "Bulk Buy" rating, representing extremely high quality at an extremely low price. Today we have just such an example from the winery (Bergevin Lane) that has brought us such all-time hits as the She-Devil Syrah and the Moonspell Cabernet Sauvignon.

This ultra-affordable blend of 28% Malbec, 22% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot, 7% Petit Verdot and 7% Cabernet Franc spent an incredible 19 months in barrel (mostly French) and clocks in under $12 a bottle!
71% of the fruit comes from the estate Bergevin Springs vineyard in the Walla Walla Valley. Instead of blending in a bunch of no name bulk wine for the remainder (as many wineries will do with these blends), Bergevin sourced the remaining fruit from some of the top vineyards in the state, names you may remember from our excellent Amavi deals.
Francisca's and Les Collines vineyards round out the remaining 9% of the fruit from the Walla Walla Valley. Add to that 20% from the Stone Tree Vineyards in the Wahluke Slope and you have quite the winning recipe. Heck, even the normal SRP of $17 is insanely low for this wine.
And just like all the other Bergevin Lane wines, acclaimed winemaker Dave Harvey made the Bergevin Lane Linen Red. The wine has 14.5% alcohol, and 3,040 cases were produced.

The Linen Red is refined and elegant, priced for every day drinking. Fermented in small lots using traditional techniques. Linen is aged for 19 months in small oak barrels.
Crimson in color with aromas of blueberry, raspberry, spice and toasted oak. Our grape varietals are vinified separately and then blended prior to bottling, relying on taste and texture. Smooth and lush, this medium bodied blend has bright acidity with flavors of blueberry, cherry, strawberry, & spice. Pairs well with friends, a good movie, pork tenderloin, prime rib or your favorite pizza!
The 2016 Bergevin Lane Vineyards Linen Red begins with quite an inviting aroma of black cherry and raspberry with wonderfully integrated savory spice notes.
Taking a sip reveals this to be a tasty, medium-bodied red blend full of dark and red fruit and featuring a smooth and almost velvety mouthfeel. The spice turns a bit more oaky when tasting but is still well-integrated in this balanced wine.
Touches of licorice, cola, black pepper and more lead into the dry, juicy, long finish. I love it and it's even better after it has some air.
