The 2020 Bodegas Leza Garcia Senorio De Odon Rioja Crianza begins with a strong aroma of black cherry, blackberry and black currant with some grape lifesaver and butterscotch candy notes plus licorice, vanilla and baking spice.
Tasting the wine reveals it to be smooth and perhaps a bit artificial tasting. It features similar flavors to the nose with lots of fruit and oak plus a good amount of chocolate. It also has good acidity. Overall this is satisfying and likely to be a crowd-pleaser.
It ends dry, a bit grippy and with decent length. This will probably be better in a year but it’s not bad now and very respectable for just $6.99. It was similar on day 2.
