A little bit of Italian heaven from Mendocino.
We’re back with another great offer from Brutocao Family Vineyards, this time with three different wines from their line of Italian varietals, the Quadriga, Primitivo and the aptly named Uber Tuscan!
After the recent success of our Sangiovese offer from Brutocao (pronounced brew’ tuh coe) we decided to come back with not one but three additional wines made from Italian varietals. Sangiovese factors into two of these wines, of course, but they also feature Primitivo, Barbera and even Dolcetto.
These are truly unique, very small production, estate bottled wines but the best part is that they are also 40% off for the next day! This is not to be missed.
(Estate bottled means that these are all estate grapes and the entire wine production happened at the winery, meaning the entire process from growing the grapes to making the wine is under the winery’s control.)
Today’s deal includes 2 bottles of each of the following wines: the 2016 Quadriga, a blend of primarily Sangiovese, Primitivo, Barbera and Dolcetto; the 2014 Uber Tuscan, a blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon; and the 2016 Primitivo.
All 3 wines have an SRP of $28 and are pretty much only available at the winery at that price. (This is not a surprise when so little of each wine is made.)
Our INSIDER DEAL gets you 2 bottles of each wine for a total of 6 bottles for $99.99. That’s just $16.67 per bottle, saving you over $11 on every bottle!
The Brutocao Mixed Italian 6-pack ships to: AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, KS, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MT, NC, ND, NH, NJ, NV, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, TN, TX, VA, WA and WI. (These states are dependent on the individual licenses of this winery. Future deals may have more or less states available.) Once the deal ends and the orders are consolidated (7-10 days after the conclusion of the offer), we are currently sending all orders via 2-day shipping (in styrofoam) to minimize transit time and protect against heat exposure during the summer.
This is a limited time, winery direct offer facilitated by our friends at Wine Country Connect. Sale ends Friday 9/11 at noon (PST) unless it sells out sooner, which has been happening a lot lately. 2 Day shipping is a flat $10 per order no matter how many 6-packs you buy! Clicking on the buy button above will take you to the site winedealmaker.com for checkout. If you don't see the embedded buy box click here to order. Once there you can also adjust the quantity in your order by using the "Click To Update Cart" link at the top of the screen.
Up first, we've got the 2016 Brutocao Quadriga which is 37% Sangiovese, 18% Barbera, 17% Primitivo, 16% Dolcetto, 9% Merlot and 3% Syrah from the estate Bliss, Feliz and Contento vineyards. The wine spends 18 months in 90% and 10% American oak, 25% of which was new and just 1,000 cases were produced.
From the bottle:
Quadriga, a chariot carried by four horses, is an ancient Italian symbol of triumph. Celebrating our Italian heritage, we created a proprietary blend of Sangiovese, Primitivo, Barbera and Dolcetto. This versatile wine can be enjoyed with pizza, pasta, most meat dishes, cheeses, or just with a good friend. We hope you find our effort "most triumphant."
1000 cases produced.
The 2016 Brutocao Quadriga begins with a very nice, enticing aroma featuring an assortment of red and dark berries, loads of licorice, varied baking spice notes and lots of other touches to discover as you sniff and swirl it.
And it gets even better when tasting this really delightful blend of Italian varietals. With wonderful juicy fruit, lovely and well-integrated oaky spice notes and a smooth mouthfeel, this is a delicious, full-bodied and slightly tannic beauty. I love that this can be found in Mendocino!
It ends with a dry, long, savory, lovely finish. It's wonderful and the whole thing gets even better the more time it has to breathe.

Next comes the 2014 Brutocao Uber Tuscan which is 65% Sangiovese and 35% Cabernet Sauvignon from the estate Contento, Feliz and Bliss vineyards. The wine spends 18 months in oak barrels and just 500 cases were produced.
From the bottle:
"Why Uber Tuscan?" Well, Uber comes from the German language and is a cognate of both Latin, super and Greek, hyper, as well as English, over. More recently, uber also became a synonym for super, i.e. ubercool = supercool, generally with a slightly intensified meaning. Tuscan, because Tuscany was the birthplace of some uber dudes, like Leonardo and Michelangelo, the Italian Renaissance, and fabulous wine. So, when we decided to create our own super cool Tuscan style wine, "Uber Tuscan" just fit. With aromas of jasmine, plums and red vine licorice, our fruit-forward blend has a rich mouth feel, great tannin structure and a long plum strawberry finish.
500 cases produced.
The 2014 Brutocao Uber Tuscan begins with a very pleasing aroma of black cherry, strawberry and other berry fruit, vanilla and assorted spice notes.
If you were lucky enough to get in on the 100% Sangiovese deal you'll find this one to be a bit riper, with more black cherry fruit than the Sangiovese. It's smooth and easy to drink with nice touches of spice throughout and great structure. Quite easy to drink right out of the bottle, it keeps improving the more air it has so give it plenty of time to breathe.
It ends dry, long and delicious.

And finally we've got the 2016 Brutocao Primitivo which is 100% Primitivo from the estate Contento vineyard. It spends 18 months in 100% French oak, 23% of which was new. Just 500 cases were produced.
From the bottle:
Sitting on top of our picturesque, hillside Contento Ranch, this single vineyard Primitivo is a beautiful expression of an old world varietal flourishing in the new world. Hand-picked fruit, small batch fermentation and aging in French oak barrels result in a wine we hope you will enjoy. Salute
500 cases produced.
The 2016 Brutocao Primitivo, which is a clone of the same grape as Zinfandel, shows quite differently than your typical Cali Zin. It begins with a very enticing aroma of berry, prunes, raisins, a little spice, a little earth, a little leather and licorice.
It's a bit more Zin like when tasting but overall more full bodied and substantial than your typical California Zin. It has great balance, nicely integrated spice, a good earthy undercurrent and touches of tobacco in the mouth. Delicious!
It ends with a dry, long, slightly chewy finish of lingering fruit and spice. I love it, what a trio of wines we have today!
