Torrent = A rushing or abundant and unceasing stream; a deluge. This best describes our new proprietary red wine blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah, a “Torrent” of aroma and flavor. It starts with cascading aromas of black licorice, blackberry, and espresso. A silky mouthfeel, a deluge of chocolate and coffee lead into an outpouring of plum and tobacco for a long, smooth finish. This is a serious, dry, and well-structured wine with lots of dark-fruit flavors and firm tannins. It has tempting black cherry aromas and black currant flavors, a full-body, and a mouth-filling texture that will pair well with rich food. Aging: 18 months in a blend of French Oak, American Oak, and our Winemaker’s proprietary blended barrel mix.

The 2018 Brutocao Torrent opens with a very pleasing aroma of ripe blackberry and black cherry plus lots of licorice, a hint of roasted coffee and a bit of mint and vanilla.
Taking a sip reveals lots of juicy fruit in this easy to drink, balanced and quite tasty full-bodied red blend. It features delightful cherry, blackberry and plum fruit in the mouth in addition to more licorice, well integrated spice, chocolate and even a hint of a tobacco and earth. The whole thing is wrapped up in a silky smooth texture. This is tasting quite put together at 5 years of age, and still has plenty of peak drinking ahead of it.
Firm tannins lead into dry, very long, savory, juicy, grippy and even a bit dusty finish. Delicious, and it was even a bit better on day 2.

Our Contento Ranch is a beautiful, hillside vineyard, which gives this wine its distinct character of concentrated fruit and complex layers. Aromas of cinnamon stick, dried currants, and sweet plums lead into this rich wine. Plums & red fruit with hints of mocha & tobacco greet your palate. All this, followed by nice round tannins resulting in a long, smooth finish of cherry, honey, and vanilla spice.

The 2018 Brutocao Cabernet Sauvignon opens with a lovely aroma of blackberry, black cherry, licorice, cedar and some wonderful cinnamon and other baking spice notes.
Tasting reveals a smooth, beautifully balanced, medium-bodied, simply delicious Cabernet. Featuring wonderfully and seamlessly integrated oak, rich fruit, good complexity and touches of dark chocolate and spice, this is drinking great right now. (And I’m also guessing it will continue to improve over the next 5 years or so.)
Fine tannins lead into the long, dry finish. It was just as good on day 2.
