Vermentino from Tuscany, Italy. The wine is produced sustainably and fermented in stainless steel.

The Carpineto Dogajolo Vermentino Toscana is available at Trader Joe’s for $16.99. While the brand is certainly not a Trader Joe’s label or exclusive, this bottling might be as TJ’s is currently the only place to buy. The other Carpineto Dogajolo wines are widely available. 10,000 cases were produced and 2,000 were imported by Opici Wines & Spirits.

2025 Carpineto Dogajolo Vermentino Toscana IGT

Vinification: low temperature and slow fermentation in stainless steel tanks is started with the aid of selected yeasts.

Perfume: straw yellow with green highlights that turn golden over time.
Taste: balanced floral notes, reminiscent of the coastline air during Spring flowering. The initial fruity and honeyed flavors give way to a gentle softness, balanced by good acidity.
The finish is round, yet dry.

Serving temperature: 10-12°C, 50-54°F

The 2025 Carpineto Dogajolo Vermentino opens with a very pleasing and fragrant aroma full of lemon, honeysuckle and some other fruity and floral aromas. It’s a nice start.

Taking a sip reveals that the wine is soft and smooth yet still vibrant. It features plenty of fruit flavors with good depth. It also has a good juicy acidity although it could use a touch more.

It ends dry, soft and long on the lip-smacking finish. This is really easy to drink and pleasing and a nice example of the variety.
