The 2020 Chateau Ste Michelle Indian Wells Cabernet Sauvignon begins with a fabulous aroma full of ripe, dark berries along with plenty of spice, licorice, vanilla, cedar and more. You can smell plenty of oak influence in this one.

Taking a sip reveals smooth, vanilla-soaked Cab goodness. It also features plenty of delicious secondary notes of spice, herbs, chocolate and more. If you enjoy really well done oak influence in your Cab, this wine is for you. And as the winery states, it’s definitely a bit more jammy than some of their other Cabs, (the Canoe Ridge for instance), but it doesn’t overdo it and that adds to its mass appeal.

It ends dry, long and a bit chewy with lasting spice. It was similar on day 2. We hadn’t reviewed this one in a while, but just like always it is consistently good.
