The 2020 Domaine des Chers Julienas Vieilles Vignes from Arnaud Briday begins with pleasing aromas of black cherry, strawberry and some floral notes plus a bit of that signature Beaujolais bubble gum aroma and nice touches of black pepper.
It only takes one sip to know that this is some darn good Beaujolais! It's elegant but still features good depth on the juicy fruit. Touches of earthiness reveal themselves on the mid-palate and lead into the finish.
Speaking of that finish, it's dry, smooth, a bit grippy, and quite long with lingering juicy fruit and some dusty tannins. This is lovely! It's very similar to the 2019 with perhaps a bit more of the black pepper notes in the 2020.

The Arnaud Briday 2019 Domaine des Chers Julienas Vieilles Vignes opens with pleasing aromas of strawberry, black cherry and some floral notes plus a a touch of black pepper and of course a bit of that signature Beaujolais bubble gum aroma.
This tastes very good. It's elegant but still features good depth on the juicy fruit. Touches of earthiness reveal themselves on the mid-palate and lead into the dry, smooth, long and a bit grippy finish of lingering juicy fruit and some dusty tannins. Lovely.
