Edouard Delaunay Septembre Pinot Noir - A Bounty of Good Taste

By: Jon Thorsen Published: August 17, 2022 Last Updated: October 3, 2022

A fresh, balanced and tasty wine, the Edouard Delaunay Septembre Pinot Noir.

Edouard Delaunay Septembre Pinot Noir - A Bounty of Good Taste

100% Pinot Noir from several areas in Burgundy, France. About 80% of the grapes come from Cote de Beaune and Cote de Nuits and about half the wine was aged in oak barrels with the rest in stainless steel. The wine has just 2 g/L of residual sugar.

Sample submitted for review. The wine has an average retail price of $27 and is occasionally available for as low as $19.99. It is imported by Saranty Imports.

    From the bottle:

Our ancestors used to say "September makes or breaks the vintage". Septembre was born from Burgundy's terroirs, during the month of harvest. This Pinot Noir hails from selected plots and features notes of red and black berries finishing with fullness and freshness. Enjoy at 60F.

    13% Alcohol

The 2019 Edouard Delaunay Septembre Pinot Noir opens with an attractive and intriguing aroma of cherry and black cherry, plus lots of subtle yet lovely baking spice and bay leaves notes along with touches of cedar and a bit of a candied nutty note.

Taking a sip reveals a fresh, balanced and tasty wine with wonderful spice notes coming out on the mid-palate and leading into the finish. Featuring a smooth mouthfeel and similar fruit to the nose and good depth this is just a really nice all-around Pinot Noir at a great price for Burgundy. It paired wonderfully with our lemon chicken and roasted tomato pasta salad.

It ends dry and quite long with hints of minerality and earth under the fruit and was just as good on day two.
