Emma Reichart Dry Riesling – Quite Tasty

By: Jon Thorsen Last Updated: October 15, 2020

Another $5 find from Trader Joe’s, the Emma Reichart Dry Riesling.

Emma Reichart Dry Riesling - Quite Tasty

Riesling from Rheinhessen, Germany.

The wine is available exclusively at Trader Joe’s and sells for just $4.99.

From the bottle:

This dry style Riesling is crafted from cool-climate grapes cultivated by small, independent growers in the tradition of Emma Reichart, our family’s matriarch.

Fragrant citrus blossom notes mingle with apricot, meyer lemon and honeycomb in this mouth-watering dry Riesling. The bright and citrusy style works well with “green” flavors such as lime, basil, tomatillo and jalapeno. The vibrant minerality pairs well with seafood, chicken, salads, guacamole, Thai and other Asian cuisines. Serve chilled.

11.5% Alcohol

The aroma on the 2019 Emma Reichart Dry Riesling is a bit shy when first opened but offers pleasing notes of citrus and a little honeysuckle.

Taking a sip reveals that this is just a nice, easy to drink, dry Riesling. You really can’t wrong at this price if you enjoy the dryer style. With lively acidity, citrus (mostly lemon) plus pear, melon and apricot too this is quite tasty stuff.

It ends dry, crisp and a bit short but even has a bit of minerality on the finish. And did we mention it’s only $5?
