Folk Machine Parts & Labor Red Wine - No Fairytale

By: Jon Thorsen Published: July 13, 2016 Last Updated: May 30, 2021

Folk Machine Parts & Labor Red Wine - No Fairytale
The Folk Machine Parts & Labor Red Wine, a truly tasty and unique red blend.

44% Syrah from the biodynamically farmed Vecino Vineyard in Potter Valley, 30% Carignane from 100 year old organically farmed vines planted in Redwood Valley, 12% Grenache from Cedar Lane in Arroyo Seco and 10% Barbera from from Fox Hill in Mendocino, California. 69% of the wine was aged in stainless steel and 31% in oak barrels.

The Folk Machine Parts & Labor Red Wine from the Hobo Wine Co. has an SRP of $20. 1,889 cases produced. Sample submitted for review.

    From the winery:

The fourth vintage of the Folk Machine’s red wine blend continues to fit into our ideas and hopes of what a California bistro wine can and should be. Light on it’s feet, great with food, fun and easy to drink, and affordable.

Parts & Labor is a selection of older California vineyards and varieties from sometimes obscure and off the beaten path areas.

    13.1% Alcohol

The 2015 Folk Machine Parts & Labor Red Wine begins with quite a beautiful aroma full of spice, licorice, bubble gum, blueberry, raspberry and more. Tasting the wine reveals it to be smooth and light to medium-bodied with tons of nicely integrated spice. There's also plenty of delicious fruit - fleshy apple notes, blueberry and assorted red fruits primarily. It ends dry with extremely long lasting mint notes. It's really tasty and complex in an understated way and much different than your average red blend. I like it!
