Fermented in stainless steel and neutral French oak barrels, the wine has just 1.6 g/L of residual sugar. Only 324 cases were produced.

In the Edna Valley, our vines are never far from the influence of the sea. Sunny afternoons are tempered by brisk marine breezes, and our climate is directly shaped by the seasonal currents of the Pacific Ocean. Even our soils of calcareous shale and coarse sand were uplifted from the ancient sea floor and weathered into place over the millennia. Fossil Point pays tribute to this bond between sea and vine.

The 2019 Fossil Point Rosé shows a bit darker in the glass than they very light colored 2018.
Taking a sniff reveals an enticing bouquet of strawberry, cherry and melon plus some citrus and sea salt minerality. Things are certainly starting well and they just keep getting better.
The wine tastes fresh, vibrant and full of flavor. Featuring a bright acidity and similar flavors to the nose plus some lemon in the mouth, this is really lovely and highly quaffable. I love that it has so little sugar but still has plenty of rich, sweet tasting fruit. I think the 2019 might even have a bit more complexity than the 2018 as well.
The berry flavors turn a bit tart on the dry, lip-smacking and long lasting finish. This is exceptionally delicious!
