Estate Grown and Bottled by Frog's Tooth Vineyards

The 2017 Frog's Tooth Petite Sirah pours dark and inky in the glass, just like a good Petite Sirah should.
It opens with loads of dark fruit (blackberry and blackcurrant mainly) plus plenty of well integrated spice, licorice, leather, and more. It's quite attractive and savory in an almost hedonistic way.
Tasting reveals a big, full-bodied, rich and flavorful Petite Sirah but not in over-the-top way thanks to its excellent balance. It features a smooth and velvety mouthfeel and just an abundance of flavors that are similar to the nose.
It ends dry, vibrant, a bit tannic and quite long with lots of lively, rich, juicy fruit that lasts and lasts. I love it and it was just as good on day 2.
The other half of today's 4-pack is 2 bottles of the 2017 Frog's Tooth GSM, a blend of 25% Grenache, 33% Syrah and 42% Mourvedre aged in 100% French oak for 18 months.

Medium-bodied, fresh, and bright red berry fruits, light blueberry, soft baking spices, subtle earthiness, and gentle white pepper rounds out the palate. Rounded and smooth tannins.

The 2017 Frog's Tooth GSM begins with a really enticing, savory aroma of black cherry, blackberry, blueberry and lots of varied succulent spice notes with touches of earth, balsamic, dried fruit and dried figs. It's truly excellent!
The excellence continues when tasting where all those touches from the nose, including the balsamic, continue and join with rich, juicy fruit and a smooth and soft mouthfeel.
Lots of really well done spice develops on the mid-palate and leads into the dry, very long and savory finish full of lovely, lingering flavors.
This one just keeps getting better the longer it is open. It also went fantastic with the pork tenderloin and roasted acorn squash we had for dinner. What a pair of wines!
