From the bottle:
Notes of sweet fruits intertwine with hints of Mediterranean spices, vitalized by a bright acidity that is balanced by balsamic and fragrant flavors, extending its finish and inviting the next sip.
Sharing a intrinsic characteristic of all Italian wines, Sangiovese goes well with healthy foods made from quality ingredients. Try it chilled with light fare or with your favorite medley salad. The wine is especially suitable for pairing with vegetarian and vegan dishes.

We love Sangiovese. Underpinning all kinds of wines from your basic Chianti to high end Brunello and Vino Nobile, the prices can get quite high. Sometimes; however, you just want some of that unique Sangiovese character at a price to match your $7 pizza! Well, today we have it.
The 2021 Grifone Sangiovese opens with a pleasing aroma of raspberry, strawberry and lots of cherry with a little licorice, spice and leather.
Taking a sip reveals a simple, agreeable Sangiovese! It's soft and smooth yet still a bit rustic in the mouth. Featuring similar flavors to the nose, it's a bit jammy but also has some nice spice throughout and maybe just a hint of earthiness.
It ends dry with decent length and held up just fine on day 2. This is surprisingly good for just $4.99!
