The lion is the emblem of the Hess Family and symbolizes the bold and persevering character of our founder Donald Hess. In his honor, we strive to make the very best wines that elevate your everyday. This Cabernet is bursting with spice and black fruit wrapped around mouth filling tannins and well balanced oak.

The 2015 Hess Select Cabernet Sauvignon starts with aromas of plum, ripe fruit, black cherry, spice, and a little smoke. The wine has a lush, round mouthfeel and tastes of plum and vanilla with a lot of oak and soft tannins. All those other varietals add some nice complexity to this medium-bodied wine. It finishes with lingering spice and notes of chocolate. This is a great value and a great wine to have on hand to pair with red meat, BBQ, and even with a pizza. We found the wine to be a little smoother on day 2 but it may have lost a little spice as well.
