SELL-OUT ALERT! SAVE over $XX a bottle on a special Napa Valley Zinfandel from the acclaimed Madrigal Winery, but only for the next 12 hours.
The Madrigal family have a long history of farming top vineyards in Napa Valley as well as making wine for their own eponymous label. Known for their excellent (and expensive) wines, the winery and adjoining vineyard was sold in 2024.
Learn more about our winery direct INSIDER DEALS here.To give you an idea of the caliber of the winery and vineyard, it was bought by winemaker Jayson Woodbridge for his own Fortunate Son label. He’s the founder of Hundred Acre and has made 75+ 100-point wines.
And while the Madrigal label still belongs to the family, they don’t appear to be producing new wines at this point. We have been extremely fortunate, however, to get our hands on some of their excellent inventory.
When we offered this wine a few months ago, you guys snatched up our allotment quick so we went back to see if there was any remaining to offer again. It turned out there was a small amount remaining and we were able to secure it at an even better price! We’re placing this as a Monday, bonus, 12-hour deal as we don’t expect our inventory to last long.
We don’t have a lot of info on the 2019 Madrigal Napa Valley Zinfandel on offer today as that is the way these types of acquisitions go, BUT we do know it is absolutely delicious. The winemaker was another famous one, Ed Sbragia.
And while we don’t know the exact production, we can safely assume it was top-notch and very small, probably around 300 cases.
The wine was typically only available direct from the winery for around $46 although we did find record of a handful of small sellers who retailed it even higher than that a couple years ago.
The best part? The 2019 is aged to perfection right now. And through today’s special bonus deal, you can get it at an unprecedented price…
For just the next 12 hours you can get 4 bottles of the 2019 Madrigal Napa Valley Zinfandel for just $XX.95 ($XX.XX/bottle). That’s a discount of XX%, SAVING you over $XX a bottle!
As usual on these Monday bonus deal, inventory is limited, so first come, first serve.

From the winery:
2019 Madrigal Napa Valley Zinfandel
Since the late 1930’s, three generations of the Madrigal family have farmed some of Napa Valley’s finest vineyards. The family history is a constant source of inspiration, and guides us in our wine making now. We value the long relationship we’ve had with the land and the people here, believing that the combined wisdom of the folks who’ve been here for generations and a deep appreciation of these vineyards can be tasted in our wine.
Today, the company is run by Chris Madrigal, the founder’s grandson. Our winemaker is the acclaimed Ed Sbragia, who built his reputation over 30 years of winemaking in the Napa, Sonoma and Dry Creek Valleys. Ed’s wines have won awards for years and he’s proud of the reputation he’s earned. “I just do what I love and work with the gifts of the land,” said Ed. “All with a passion and pride passed down through generations at home.”

And now on to our review:
The 2019 Madrigal Napa Valley Zinfandel opens with a harmonious, attractive aroma of black cherry, lots of licorice and mint plus some other baking spices, dried herbs and balsamic. You can tell it has a bit of age on it, which is wonderful.
Taking a sip reveals a smooth, savory and balanced wine with similar with flavors to the nose and lots of secondary notes. Everything seems to have harmonized quite nicely with age and it is VERY easy to drink with lots of layers to discover.
It ends dry, long, savory, and a touch grippy with a bit of lasting spice. By day 2 it was even a bit longer and more savory on the finish. We put this at the high end of our 9 Tasting Rating at 92-93 points. Get it while you can.
Cheers,
Jon

We liked this very much. We like our Zins fruit forward and this one delivered.
We had a glass of this Madrigal Zin last evening and really enjoyed it! I would purchase this wine again in a heartbeat!
First impression and taste of Madrigal was rich and complex. Lots of licorice notes. RWS found another winner. Like a smooth juicy glass, this is it.
See it, buy it.
Big fan of Zin. Big fan of Ed Sbragia. What could go wrong?........Absolutely nothing. Great wine, great price.
On its own merit, I would rank this 2019 Napa Zin in my Top 25 of All Time. The value offered through this RWS deal makes it the QPR Champion! The only sad thing is that there is no more Madrigal coming down the pike. I will hold one back for the ages. Cheers!
Absolutely delicious right after opening and progressively layered as it opened up. Beautiful ruby color and all the depth that makes Zins our favorite varietal. Wish, as usual, I’d bought a case!!
After the first few sips wasn’t sure about this Zin(decanted for @2 hours), but after more time I started to like it better. Concentrated fruit up front with acidic tannic finish. Taste a little different from other Dry Creek Zins I like. Will see if second bottle seems the same.
Delightful balance and beautiful fruit--a winner.
I just got my second order of the 2019 Madrigal Napa Zin (thanks Jon!). I'm a longtime fan of Ed Sbragia, the winemaker, and this Zin is a beauty. Am looking forward to the three bottles of Madrigal Calistoga I ordered, especially the purple-labeled Zin.
I'm a big fan of zins, but given the age of this wine the tannins were too pronounced.
Another terrific selection from Reverse Wine Snob. Keep up the good work!
