This Russian River Valley Chardonnay delivers bright aromas of lemon blossom, citrus and stone fruit. The elegant and layered expression of this Chardonnay is tightly focused around flavors of green apple, pear and fig while French oak gives the wine exotic spice notes and long lingering finish.

13.9% Alcohol
As the back label states, this wine is made for Costco by Glenn Hugo. A quick web search shows that he has an impressive history as the winemaker at Girard Napa Valley as well as B.R. Cohn Winery.
The 2017 Kirkland Signature Russian River Valley Chardonnay begins with pleasing aromas of green apple, pear, lemon, honeysuckle and a touch of vanilla. Tasting reveals a nice, smooth texture in this medium-bodied, balanced, well made wine. It features juicy and sweet fruit flavors similar to the nose along with hints of oak, spice and minerality.
This is a non-buttery, easy drinking, crowd-pleasing style of Chardonnay. And while it may not have all the complexity that some expect from the Russian River Valley it doesn’t have the usual hefty price tag either. It ends with a long, satisfying finish.
