From the winery:

Langlois Cremant de Loire Brut Reserve

TASTING NOTE: A pale gold color with delicate, refined bubbles. Pleasant aromas of white flowers (Tilia, Hawthorn). A subtle palate with an intense freshness.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION VARIETY: 67% Chenin Blanc (including 12% of reserve wine), 23% Chardonnay, 10% Cabernet Franc

VINEYARD: 153 acres with the half organic certified since 2020. To complement its work on its Crémants Bruts, Langlois purchases only grapes (no must or clear wine). An exception in the Loire Valley, this ensures high-quality blends.

WINEMAKING: Méthode traditionnelle (second fermentation in the bottle). Separate vinification by variety and terroir; addition of reserve wines to blend.

AGING: Two years aging on the lees in the estate’s natural troglodyte tuffeau cellars. (Compared with a minimum of 12 months for the Crémant de Loire appellation and 15 months for champagne.)

DOSAGE: Between 8 and 10g/L

12.5% Alcohol

The Langlois Cremant de Loire Brut Reserve opens with a pleasing, attractive aroma of apple, pear, lemon and other citrus plus a touch of a yeasty and floral note. It’s a nice start.

Tasting the wine reveals it to be really delicious and flavorful with a crisp, lively mouthfeel and a touch a creamy texture. The bubbles are a bit aggressive at first pop and pour but they settle in nicely once opened. It also has plenty of acidity and good balance. This is a fun one to drink.

It ends crisp, dry and quite long on the lip-smacking finish. We had this one both by itself and instead of Prosecco in an Aperol Spritz and it was excellent both ways.
