Drinkable $6.99 French Pinot Noir from Trader Joe's? We review the Loudenotte Cuvée Réservée Pays d'Oc Pinot Noir.
Pinot Noir from Languedoc-Roussillon, France.
The Loudenotte Pinot Noir is available exclusively at Trader Joe's and sells for just $6.99. It is imported by Plume Ridge.
Crafted with Pinot Noir grapes selected from vineyards enjoying the sunshine and warm Mediterranean climate, this red wine will be surprisingly elegant and fresh.
This genuine Pinot Noir displays wonderful morello cherry aromas, combined with slightly toasted notes and spicy hints from the Garrigue (scrubland).
Enjoy with strip steak and sauteed vegetables, teriyaki chicken, portobello mushrooms, pork loin with honey mustard, and soft cheeses.
13% Alcohol
The 2020 Loudenotte Cuvée Réservée Pinot Noir opens with a pleasing aroma of red cherry with touches of cranberry, minty spice and tomato plant.
Taking a sip reveals a ripe, rich, medium-bodied, smooth and easy drinking Pinot. It's not very complex at all and tastes like it has a bit of residual sugar to it but that is in line with its crowd-pleasing character.
It ends mostly dry with decent length. It's certainly not going to rival Pinot from Burgundy, but it is solid for the low price, which is no small feat for Pinot Noir. It was very similar on day 2.
