Tenuta Luce Lucente - Silky Smooth

By: Jon Thorsen Published: December 18, 2022 Last Updated: September 2, 2023

Take pasta night to the next level with this super delicious Super Tuscan, the Tenuta Luce Lucente Toscana IGT.

Tenuta Luce Lucente - Silky Smooth

50% Merlot and 50% Sangiovese from Montalcino, Tuscany, Italy. The wine spends 12 months in a oak barriques, 85% of which are new and it has 4 g/L of residual sugar.

Sample submitted for review. The Luce Della Vite Lucente has an SRP of $35 and is available for as low as $20-$22 although we spotted it at Costco for just $18.99. It is imported by Vintus LLC.

    From the bottle:

Lucente is born of a rigorous selection of grapevines with the very same care reserved to Luce. It carries within all the soul of Tenuta Luce and the deepest respect for the environment surrounding it.

    Tenuta Luce Lucente

The 2020 Tenuta Luce Lucente begins with a harmonious and enticing aroma of blackberry and raspberry plus leather, spice and licorice.

Taking a sip reveals a silky-smooth wine with wonderful flavors. Elegant and balanced, it features delicious ripe, juicy fruit countered by dusty tannins.

A long, dry finish ends the lovefest and leaves you with lasting fruit notes. It was even a bit better on day 2.

We've loved this wine since we first tried the 2009 vintage many years ago. It's sure to take pasta night to the next level.

And here's our previous review of the 2017 vintage:

The 2017 Luce Della Vite Lucente begins with wonderfully strong and enticing aromas of blackberry and raspberry plus leather, spice and licorice. The wine tastes rich and luscious with tons of delicious ripe, juicy fruit countered by dusty tannins. A fabulous long, dry finish ends the lovefest and your left with lasting fruit notes and wistful memories. In other words, this is a silky smooth wine with wonderful flavors.
