We review the Pertaringa Lakeside Cabernet Sauvignon from Bec Hardy Wines, currently available at Costco at a great price.
Cabernet Sauvignon from South Australia. The wine has just 0.5 g/L of residual sugar.
The Pertaringa Cabernet Sauvignon has an SRP of $17 but it appears to be a Costco exclusive in the US, retailing for just $11.99. You can check for other retailers here. It is imported by Mack & Schuhle.
They say that a parent doesn't have a favourite child, but Cabernet Sauvignon has always secretly been one of ours! This Pertaringa Cabernet Sauvignon offers beautifully complex notes of blackberries, cassis and mint, followed by well-integrated tannins on the youthful palate.

The 2019 Pertaringa Lakeside Cabernet Sauvignon opens with pleasing aromas of plum and dark berries with a touch of cranberry plus a little spice and mint.
The medium-bodied wine tastes smooth and round and is very easy to drink yet is complex enough to keep it interesting. Full of flavor and with good structure and good acidity the wine features juicy, tart fruit similar to the nose plus well integrated spice and touches of tobacco.
It ends dry and quite long on the very satisfying finish.
